Toyota drives flexible offer with tow tractor range

Toyota Material Handling has unveiled a new range of load carriers and tow tractors, with capacities up to 3 tonnes.

The BT Movit range includes load carriers designed for handling specific items. Many companies use specialist load carriers pulled by tow tractors, says Toyota, but the new BT Movit range has been developed with features designed specifically for this application.

The Movit N-series has two models of narrow truck that can tow up to 1 tonne. The standard TSE100 model is designed to tow load carriers in the conventional way, while the TSE100W is configured so the load carrier can effectively be docked to the tractor unit. This gives maximum accessibility and good stability, making it particularly suitable for second-level work. It also means that the overall truck length is very short, so has more manoeuvrability.

The Movit S-series tow truck can tow loads of up to 3 tonnes. Derived from the BT Optio low-level order picker range, the Movit S-series features an optional Frequency-Adapted Suspension (FAS) system to minimise equipment vibration.

The E-man control system is based on a flexible steering arm with touch-sensitive activation of the drive function. The steering arm can be moved left and right to allow pedestrian control while walking alongside.

Other Toyota tow tractors include the heavyweight Tracto range which can provide electric or engine-powered pulling power up to 49 tonnes.
