Boiler management money back guarantee

Energys Solutions is offering a money-back guarantee if energy use is not cut by at least 10% with its dynamic boiler management unit (DBMU).

The unit is an 'intelligent' retrofit boiler control that cuts the number of times a boiler fires up. This, in turn, reduces the wasted oil or gas due to incomplete burn at start-up, without affecting the temperature of a building. The unit can also work alongside a building management system, thereby providing additional control over energy consumption.

Independent testing by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) found that the DBMU cuts fuel consumption (oil or gas) by 16%, although Energys says some customers have recorded energy savings of up to 30%. The company is offering new customers a money-back guarantee if they do not record energy savings of 10% or more. It says payback on the DBMU is typically achieved in less than two years.

Aidan Salter, Energys MD, adds: "Boilers and heating units can be sources of energy waste that are often overlooked by even the most energy-conscious site managers. Installing a simple, retrofit device to more intelligently control how gas or oil is used within a heating system can provide guaranteed energy savings of up 10% – opening the door to substantial financial savings and a smaller carbon footprint."
