Bloodhound project appoints safety gear supplier

The safety company Arco has been appointed as the exclusive supplier of personal protective equipment, footwear and workwear to the Bloodhound support team that will design, build and race a car to raise the world land speed record to over 1,000mph.

Arco will be providing product and safety expertise to project leader Richard Noble and driver Andy Green's support team to enable them to work safely using some of the most innovative products developed by the world's leading brands.

Arco's joint managing director Nick Hildyard, said: "We are proud to be associated with one of this century's greatest engineering adventures. Arco is determined to be at the forefront of innovation and we see this opportunity to partner such an exciting team of pioneers as an opportunity we couldn't afford to miss. We hope to inspire our customers, partners, staff and the local communities we serve to join us on this big adventure and we wish the Bloodhound team every success as we build to the World Record attempt in 2012."
