Blata boosts productivity with Infor10 ERP Business

Czech motorcycle manufacturer Blata says it is fighting off Chinese competition by using advanced manufacturing supported by Infor10 ERP Business (formerly SyteLine).

According to company founder Pavel Blata, imitations had been a problem, so the company has been focusing on more sophisticated production processes and producing bigger motorcycles.

The firm, which also now undertakes precision engineering for the aircraft industry, went live with its new ERP system on 1 June, with the help of Infor partner ITeuro.

Its new system covers all business processes, from sales and engineering design to production and customer support – but specifically with APS (advanced planning and scheduling).

"We were looking for a solution with integrated functionality of APS," comments Blata. "ITeuro has met this task successfully by implementing Infor10 ERP Business."

Blata goes on to say that APS is now helping the firm to synchronise material and capacity to customer orders while minimising operational overheads.

Other expected benefits include better business management, higher quality products and more precise delivery times, as well as a facility to manufacture more products with its existing sources.
