Allectra sees major growth on back of Lakeview ERP

Vacuum components manufacturer Allectra is reporting significant reductions in manual interventions across end-to-end processes, improved productivity and a major increase in volumes without parallel back-office growth, since deploying ERP software from Lakeview.

The company, which manufactures electrical feedthroughs and cables, as well as items including load locks and vacuum chambers, says its new ERP system now effectively manages company-wide sourcing, distribution, accounts and reporting.

Allectra sales director Mario Peli explains that rapid growth had meant increased usage of its legacy systems, to the point that the firm's network was slowing down unacceptably.

More than that, aspects such as ageing multiple disconnected software systems, as well as, manual working with spreadsheets on, for example, stock data, were also holding the firm back.

"We outgrew our existing solution. It was unable to cope with our progression and we needed all of our [mobile] staff to be able to log into the system at all times," comments Peli.

He says that Lakeview's off-the-shelf ERP system offered a proven path, from a financially stable company with a track record of supporting businesses experiencing rapid growth.

And he adds: "We chose Lakeview because they were the designers of the software, allowing us to talk to the developers direct and ensure the solution really fitted our needs.

Implementation took just three months: "It was a quick and un-problematic installation," states Peli. "[Lakeview] has always been very responsive."

For him, the transformation has clearly been impressive. He cites "vastly improved" productivity from the workforce across all process areas.

"This has improved our ability to be responsive to our customers and has freed up staff to undertake much more valuable tasks," says Peli.

"We recognised that Lakeview's ERP system had the flexibility and scalability to meet the current and future demands of our business. This was very important to us and our plans for future growth," states Peli.
