Industrial battery manufacturer Chloride Motive Power is offering a new battery that incorporates a negative copper expanded metal grid design. This, says CMP, means the battery offers greater performance over traditional vented lead-acid types.
The ‘copper stretched metal’ version is the same size and weight as standard batteries, but has a substantially longer operating life. Also it gives a significant energy gain compared with a standard flooded battery – the company says tests show a 5% gain while driving, a 6.5% energy increase during acceleration and an improvement of 8.5% in power during lifting operations.
