Productivity up 20%, inventory down 35% and targeted for 50%, lead times slashed from around four weeks down to just one, manufacturing cycle times cut by 72%, and overtime reduced from 7% to 2%: the headline achievements at electronics manufacturer Deltron-Emcon in Scunthorpe are breathtaking. They’re excellent results by any measure, and they’re wholly down to lean thinking, vision, determination, focus and hard work on every aspect of the business.
