Improving market and lower costs boost Psion 19/01/2010

Psion, the mobile computing solutions company, today (19 January) gave an update on current trading ahead of the publication of its full year results to 31 December 2009, which it expects will be "in line with management's expectations".

Chief executive John Conoley said a slight improvement in sales activity and order intake in November had been maintained and the company remained pleased with the level of order intake in December. "With improving market conditions, our lower cost base, robust channel relationships and an enhanced product portfolio, we expect to make further progress in 2010."

Psion's operational business, Psion Teklogix, provides mobile computing and wireless data collection with products and services including rugged mobile hardware, secure wireless networks, robust software, professional services and support programs. The company works with the manufacturing and other sectors on new and emerging technologies including image capture, voice recognition and RFID.
