Evora helps Lotus towards new accolade 21/11/2008

A week after it announced a £2 million profit for the last financial year, the sports car manufacturer and automotive engineering consultancy Lotus has won Autocar magazine’s Special Award for Excellence.

The Lotus Evora (pictured), the first new Lotus for 13 years, was among the key reasons for the accolade, said CEO Mike Kimberley.

Autocar editor Chas Hallett said the resilience of Lotus and its gathering engineering strength, culminating in the launch of the exciting new Evora, were the reasons behind the award.

The first customer deliveries of the Norfolk-based outfit’s new Evora, - a 2+2 midengineV6 sportscar - are expected in Spring 2009.
