Skills Academy wins top training award 01/10/2008

The National Skills Academy for Manufacturing has received a UK National Training Award for partnership and collaboration. The award for the Academy in partnership with Norwich City College, Lotus Group and the Learning & Skills Council was presented at a regional ceremony in Cambridge.

They will now be invited to the UK gala ceremony in London on 11 December 2008 where they will be up against winners from across the UK for the overall national prize.

Academy managing director Bob Gibbon said the award underlined how the Academy was strengthening manufacturing in the UK by working collaboratively with employers, training providers and learners. He went on: “By working in partnership with Norwich City College, the Learning & Skills Council and Lotus Group we have showed how the right investment in skills training, made at the right time, will drive business success.”

The trophy was presented by sports commentator and former British hurdles champion, Colin Jackson (pictured).
