Compair acquired by Gardner Denver 01/08/2008
 
Leading compressor manufacturer Compair has been acquired by US firm Gardner Denver Inc, a global manufacturer of compressor and vacuum products and fluid transfer systems.

The transaction, which will see the whole of the Compair Group, including Hydrovane & Reavell, become part of Gardner Denver, is due to be completed in approximately two months’ time. Reddich-based Compair said the acquisition was an exciting development andit was keen to build on its reputation for high quality, innovative products and excellent customer service.

Jeremy Sykes, managing director of Compair UK, said: “This is a great opportunity for Compair and is another important milestone in our long history. Being part of Gardner Denver gives us the capability to accelerate our future growth plans and to broaden our product offering to customers.”

Illinois-based Garner Denver has operations in over 30 countries, has a turnover of almost $2 billion (£1 bn) and employs 6,200 staff worldwide. The acquisition of Compair will enable Gardner Denver to extend its global compressor business using Compair’s brands, products and complementary routes to market.
