Bredel hose Pumps shaves 19% from supply costs online 06/03/2008

manufacturing business technology Dutch Bredel Hose Pumps reckons it’s saving 19% on the cost of its cast iron components since it started using Vendigital’s supplier sourcing and purchasing expertise.

“We really did not know what to expect, but were delighted with not only the level of savings achieved and new suppliers identified, but also the high standard of communication levels and co-operation.” says the firm’s Mathijs Verlaek.

Bredel’s eur 750,000 spend on housings, rotors and covers for its hose pumps was mainly in Holland and Germany. Vendigital investigated more than 800 potential suppliers around the world and then ran tender processes using its RFQ and online auctioning.

Best suppliers were then visited by Vendigital with Bredel’s team, which, following a structured audit and risk assessment led to its money-saving sourcing decision.

Says Bredel’s Verlaek: “Without Vendigital we would not have had the time to source new suppliers, nor the capacity to organise an online action. All told they did a super job. Through our dealings with them, we not only have achieved significant cost reductions but have also increased our supplier base and knowledge of the systems needed to hold online auctions.”
