Track and trace software puts axles firm on right track 14/02/2008

Axle distribution firm BPW says it has chosen a Syspro ERP system from K3 for its CRM (customer relationship management) facilities – and in particular its track and trace, warranty and service features.

The company says it needed a system that would allow it to track the sale and distribution of axles to trailer builders, and to trace serial numbers and details of end user trailer operators.

Says management accountant Steve Turton: “Stock control is crucial to our business, as is identifying what type of axle each end user is operating – for repair and replacement purposes. We need to provide that information to whoever is going to service or repair any trailer fitted with our axle.”

The system is now live and Turton says it’s saving administration time because barcode data on every axle leaving BPW’s premises is now fed automatically to the warranty and service application.
