Transducer improves production line efficiency March 2008

The stainless steel U93 force transducer from HBM reduces production cycle times in the monitoring of fitting processes such as stamping, riveting, clinching, or press-fitting.

The U93 has a compact design and flange connections on both sides making it easy to install, particularly where space is a constraint. For integration with process controls the U93 includes TEDS transducer identification enabling data to be automatically transferred to the process controller.

When combined with the MP85A FASTpress, the U93 can control, record and evaluate processes at up to 300 fitting processes per minute.

HBM has also introduced its MP85A FASTpress Suite PC software that is matched to the amplifier and provides many additional functions for control, evaluation, and analysis of process data. It comprises ‘EASYsetup’ for user administration, ‘EASYteach’ for process analysis and ‘MP85A Toolkit’ for individual programming.

HBM provides support that includes on-site planning and system start-up by professional service engineers as well as training of machine operators. Individual technical solutions can be supported on request.

HBM provides solutions comprising all components from sensor through software and the required support. More information is available online.
