Oldcastle signs multi-suite ERP contract with Lawson Software 16/01/2008

US building products and materials manufacturer Oldcastle says it expects to achieve business-wide visibility and manageable growth when it goes live with Lawson Software’s M3 enterprise financial management, manufacturing operations and supply chain management suites.

The company says it intends to use the applications to help integrate its financial, supply chain, manufacturing and distribution systems.

Oldcastle’s operations involve more than 1,700 locations in 50 US states and four Canadian provinces, and include more than 50,000 employees. This implementation is for the company’s Architectural Products Group (APG), which is to roll out the system to 2,200 users in 230 locations across US and Canada.

“As we continue to grow and expand our business, we need integrated applications that can both facilitate and adapt with that growth,” says Frank Murtagh, Oldcastle APG CIO. “The Lawson applications are designed to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our business processes, which will help us make better-informed decisions for our company.”

He says the company selected Lawson M3 software for several reasons, including: functionality, which satisfied the Oldcastle’s broad requirements; its more or less ‘out of the box’ configuration; the system’s scalability; and its apparent total cost of ownership.
