Oil sector manufacturer goes for Berkeley Miles ERP 15/01/2008

Aberdeen-based Schoeller-Bleckmann Darron, which provides manufacturing, repair and maintenance services to the oil and gas sector, is implementing Berkeley Myles Solutions’ production control software.

SBD’s finance manager Alasdair Stevenson says that the company had been struggling with its existing system and that he believes ProgressPlus offers will prove to be a vital component in helping to improve efficiency across its manufacturing processes.

“We wanted something that would help us manage our systems better and, after detailed discussions with a number of providers, we came to the decision that ProgressPlus offered the best solution. We believe that [it] is not just slightly better, but a massive step forward and the change can be easily justified.”

And he adds: “Our parent company is also hungry for good, accurate information on time, and we believe that the new system will be an important factor in helping us meet these demands… Going forward the software will allow us to report our annual financial figures a lot more quickly and effectively.”
