Swiss metal processor goes for Infor to cut cycle times 02/01/2008

Swiss wire and metal goods manufacturer Ruch, which serves the construction industry, says it expects to slash manufacturing cycle times when it goes live with Infor’s ERP COM business system.

Irene Agola, Ruch project manager, says that the company will benefit from seamlessly integrated business processes, linking previously isolated planning systems – enabling it to improve service assignment planning, version management, service inventory and supplier ratings, demand planning and progress control.

She cites functionality such as the system’s ability to handle product variants as key, explaining that, as product characteristics are entered via Infor ERP COM’s user interface, the system initiates resource allocation processes across all departments, so will speeding up the manufacturing cycle.

“Infor ERP COM is our preferred choice as it offers built in comprehensive capabilities for handling product variants,” says Agola. ”That saved us from time and cost-intensive customisation.”
