Best Factory Conference announced 06/11/2007

Speakers at the Best Factory Conference already confirmed include overall winner Reckitt Benckiser, with a number of other category winners also in place. The event is to be held from 11 - 12 March 2008 at Chesford Grange, Kenilworth, Nr Warwick, Warwickshire.

This years Best Factory conference follows up on the resounding success of the 2007 Best Factory Awards programme, and will reveal that standards in UK manufacturing have moved up a gear in the past year. A full conference programme will be available in early December, and the December issue of Works Management.

It is aimed at all sectors of manufacturing, both small companies and global organisations alike will benefit from insights from previous winners, as well as BFA judges Professor Mike Sweeney and Dr Marek Swejczewscki. Chris Rowlands, editor of Works Management and part of the judging team will also be present.

In addition, a number of industry experts from the BFA sponsor organisations will be on hand to help delegates with advice and guidance. These include Unite the Union, Toyota Materials Handling (UK), Productivity Europe, TBM Consulting, Wincanton and O2.

Delegate feedback from last year’s event highly recommended the conference and the BFA programme. Phil Mather, operations director at BFA Health, Safety and Environment Award winner Sharp Interpack said: “The conference was an eye opener – leading us to realise that we should enter the awards.”

“The conference and awards are a great opportunity to network with other businesses and learn more about best practice via these events, and to be benchmarked along side the best in the UK.”

And Gordon Holden, managing director of Exception PCB, which took a number of awards including Best Small Company said: “We attended the conference to see what the competition was doing, and whether we could consider entering. We learnt that we could…and we were absolutely delighted to have a number of our people from the business join the celebrations when we took three accolades, the crown being Best Small Company in the Best Factory Awards.”

An early bird discount is available for bookings pre-Christmas.
