WM wins PPA journalism prize

WM has won a highly commended prize at the Professional Publishers Association (PPA) awards – the Oscars of the publishing world.

Max Gosney picked up the highly commended award for Editor of the Year (Business Media), which recognised successful innovation and consistent all-round quality which put a brand above its competitors.

WM flew the flag for UK manufacturing at a gala awards ceremony featuring heavyweight magazine titles Men's Health, GQ and Radio Times.

Gosney thanked WM readers for helping catapult the magazine to awards success.

He said: "This is a fairy tale night for everyone at WM and it couldn't have happened without the loyal support of UK manufacturers. Thank you to everyone who phones, writes in, attends our roundtables or completes our surveys. We wouldn't have been here without your support."

The PPA awards attracted over 700 entries from 77 companies across the media sector.

Gosney received the prize from a shortlist of seven finalists in the category.

Congratulations to overall category winner Emma Penny of Farmers Guardian.

The PPA is the trade association for UK publishing with over 200 member companies.
